UNICEF Programme Briefs: Reporting Progress With Clarity
Project Overview
Challenge
The DevSmart Group supports UN agencies and NGOs in doing one of the most important—and vulnerable—tasks: building trust with donors and stakeholders. For UNICEF Afghanistan, that meant showing progress in areas that directly shape children’s futures—polio, health, child protection, WASH, nutrition, and education. But their reports needed more than data. They needed clarity, consistency, and a format that could carry both the urgency of the work and the humanity of the children it impacts.
Solution
We built a system that honored both story and structure. By creating journalistic-style, magazine-inspired templates, we gave the programme briefs a polished, unified design. Using Adobe InDesign for layout and Illustrator for key statistics, we crafted a repeatable visual framework: clean typography, structured data visualizations, and UNICEF’s powerful imagery. The design wasn’t just about looking good—it was about creating a tool that worked again and again, making impact easier to share.
Results
The briefs did more than report progress—they told a story stakeholders could trust and connect with. Distributed across UNICEF Afghanistan’s network, they strengthened communication, built credibility, and helped donors see the real difference their support makes. When information is presented with clarity and care, it doesn’t just inform—it inspires.
