CCF is dedicated to saving cheetahs in the wild
Overview
Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) faced the challenge of an outdated and non-responsive global website, alongside multiple chapter sites worldwide. The existing platform lacked ease of maintenance and scalability, hindering their ability to effectively update content and engage users. Additionally, CCF required a refreshed, scalable logo that could maintain its integrity in a single color format, enhancing brand consistency across all outreach materials.
Solution
We built a custom website using WordPress Multisite to meet the needs of CCF's global and chapter sites. This solution ensured ease of maintenance and scalability across all locations. Additionally, we carefully vectorized their logo to create a fresh and modern design while maintaining the integrity of the original, world-renowned mark. This comprehensive approach provided CCF with a cohesive and user-friendly digital presence: Key contributions included:
- Web design
- Front-end development
- WordPress development
- Logo Design and Branding
Logo Refresh
Because CCF's logo was so recognizable, a complete redesign was not an option. Instead, we drew a simple vector version of the running cheetah. We also adjusted the type to make the logo feel more contemporary.
The New CCF Logo
New Look and Feel
Working with CCF staff, we restructured the content across cheetah.org to make information easy to find with intuitive navigation in the header and footer. The homepage offers a hierarchy of featured content, up-to-date news, and videos.
We built the website with WordPress and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). Website managers update and create content in a consistent way across the site. They select from a toolkit of layout components like full-width banners, galleries, figures, and video.
Mobile Optimized
Cheetah.org is optimized and readable for mobile viewports.
CCF Kids
The website has an area just for kids! It encourages children and parents to get involved with CCF. To make it stand out on the website, we created a special logo.
The logo for the Kids pages
In addition to the CCF Kids logo, I created an entire font called Cheetah Tracks using Fontself. I used the web font on headers within the Kids section. CCF also uses the font for email and print communications.

The new cheetah.org launched in June of 2019. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with CCF to raise awareness on their efforts to save the cheetah from extinction.
