How Accessible Design Motivates Your Audience Into Action

April, 2017|Whether you need more support for your cause or a greater following on social media, accessibility for your website (and other digital communications) will help you reach a wider audience, and motivate them to take action.

What on earth is accessibility?

According to the WC3, accessibility leads the web to its full potential to be accessible, enabling everyone to participate equally on the web:

Accessibility supports social inclusion for people with disabilities as well as others, such as older people, people in rural areas, and people in developing countries.

How significant and a worthy ideal, right? Accessibility can surely be achieved by making menus, images, text, forms, and tables readily available to the visually impaired, dyslexic, those who navigate using a keyboard, and those with limited connectivity. A holistic and integrated approach to accessibility should further include:

  • Mobile web design
  • Design for older users
  • Readability and typography
  • Visual appeal (branding)
  • Content strategy (navigation and storytelling)
  • Data visualization

Accessible design is not only the embodiment of online social inclusion, it helps you reach more people, builds awareness, and ultimately motivates your audience into action.
