Social Media Strategist

Molly Stromoski is a digital communications specialist, social media strategist, and documentary-style photographer with more than nine years of experience capturing and amplifying public-service storytelling across New York City. She brings a rare blend of visual acuity, editorial discipline, and community-centered messaging — helping mission-driven organizations reach, inform, and inspire the people who need their resources most.

At Avidano Digital, as our Social Media Strategist, Molly’s work sits at the intersection of photography, digital content strategy, and brand-aligned storytelling. She excels at translating complex civic initiatives into accessible, human-centered visuals and campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences. Her approach is grounded in authenticity, clarity, and a deep respect for the communities being served.

Before joining Avidano Digital, Molly served as a Digital Media Specialist at NYC Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), the nation’s largest municipal housing agency. She led all photographic and social media coverage for HPD’s events, announcements, and public-facing initiatives — collaborating across multiple divisions to assess digital content needs and shape online marketing campaigns that support New Yorkers seeking housing resources. She developed and managed HPD’s agency-wide social media content calendar, maintained brand consistency across all visuals, and stewarded the city’s photo and communications archive.

Prior to HPD, Molly worked for six years as a Digital Media Specialist and Photographer at NYC’s Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), where she spearheaded photography and Instagram coverage for hundreds of youth, community, and education events citywide. She built an agency-wide content calendar and implemented an Instagram strategy that drove a 1,000% increase in followers and a tenfold jump in engagement per post — a transformative shift in DYCD’s ability to reach and engage young New Yorkers. She also established the department’s first comprehensive photo archiving system.

Molly’s photography career began early and spans journalism, apparel, parks conservancies, nonprofits, and community organizations. She has shot assignments for the New York Observer and Commercial Observer, handled photo research and metadata management, and photographed public events, concerts, product lines, and state parks across Vermont and Brooklyn. Over more than a decade, she has developed a versatile portfolio that includes documentary coverage, portraiture, lifestyle photography, product photography, environmental storytelling, and event documentation.

A graduate of Pratt Institute with a BFA in Photography, Molly brings both artistic training and professional discipline to her work. She is proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Camera RAW, Hootsuite, digital asset management systems, and social content scheduling tools, with deep platform knowledge across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

Known for her thoughtful eye, collaborative spirit, and ability to capture moments that feel honest and emotionally resonant, Molly helps organizations tell their stories with humanity and visual clarity. Her work creates pathways between public agencies and the communities they serve — building trust, strengthening engagement, and making essential information more accessible across the digital landscape.
