(he/him)
CEO and Founder
Carl Avidano is a senior UX strategist, accessibility innovator, and front-end design technologist with more than two decades of experience transforming complex digital environments for government agencies, global nonprofits, and Fortune 500 organizations. He specializes in designing inclusive, scalable systems that merge research, interaction design, and accessible engineering into digital experiences that work for everyone.
As the CEO and Founder of Avidano Digital, Carl leads large-scale digital transformation programs with a rare hybrid skillset: researcher, designer, and engineer. His work blends strategic vision with hands-on implementation, ensuring every solution is grounded in evidence, built with intention, and guided by an unwavering commitment to accessibility. He has delivered high-impact UX and web strategy for organizations such as UNICEF, the Cheetah Conservation Fund, the City of Phoenix, and the City of New York, where he championed accessibility reforms and strengthened the usability of citywide digital services.
Carl’s leadership is rooted in systems thinking and deep collaboration. He excels at bridging research teams, engineers, designers, and executive decision-makers—turning complex constraints into purposeful design decisions. He has overseen end-to-end UX research, stakeholder alignment, multiyear digital roadmaps, and the development of accessible front-end architectures across enterprise-scale digital ecosystems.
He is also the creator and ongoing maintainer of the Natura11y Inclusive Framework™, an open-source toolkit that empowers designers and developers to build WCAG-compliant, accessible interfaces at scale. The framework is a reflection of Carl’s philosophy: Accessibility should be built into the foundation, not added after the fact.
Carl’s lived experience with a physical disability is central to his work and fuels his belief that inclusive design is not just a best practice—it is a responsibility. He centers disabled users throughout the design and development process, co-creating solutions that produce measurable, equitable outcomes. His technical fluency spans front-end engineering, accessible component libraries, and the implementation of design systems built for long-term governance and cross-functional adoption.
Across every engagement, Carl brings clarity, rigor, and a mission-driven commitment to improving how people experience digital services. His work embodies the heart of Avidano Digital: thoughtful collaboration, accessible innovation, and the relentless pursuit of digital spaces where everyone belongs.
